About

Emergency Australia – Built on Service, Forged in Experience

Emergency Australia was founded in 2013 by military veteran and paramedic Sean O’Loughlin with a simple but powerful mission: to harness the unique lived experience of our veterans and first responders, and use it to prepare individuals and organisations to respond with confidence when it matters most.

We began in the Central West of New South Wales, delivering first aid training and providing medical support to the high-risk motorsport industry across the state. From those early days, our small team of veterans—honed in contemporary wartime operations—brought military planning, professionalism, and precision that changed the way first aid training and medical support were delivered in complex environments.

Our training philosophy has always been shaped by lived experience. Overseas, many of us had to prepare foreign forces to perform life-saving skills the very next day in life-and-death situations. We asked ourselves: how can we train Australians with that same immediacy and impact? The answer was clear—our training had to be hands-on, immersive, realistic, and scenario-driven. As the old saying goes: train hard, fight easy. That principle remains at the core of how we design and deliver our programs, ensuring individuals are truly prepared for high-stress, high-stakes environments.

As we grew, we welcomed emergency services personnel alongside our veterans, ensuring our teams carried both military and civilian expertise. This integration has kept our training and medical support current, relevant, and effective, while bridging the best of both worlds.

At the heart of Emergency Australia is our commitment to providing meaningful employment for veterans and first responders. Their lessons learned—often paid for in blood, sweat, and sacrifice—must not be lost or forgotten. Instead, they are passed on to prepare the next generation, ensuring their service continues to make an impact.

Today, over a decade on, our training scope has expanded to meet the diverse needs of our clients across Australia. But one thing has never changed—our core values. They are not gimmicks or slogans. They are who we are, and what we expect from every professional who joins us.

We are proud of where we have come from. We are passionate about what we do. And we are driven by the knowledge that when the call comes, Australians deserve the very best—trained, skilled, and ready.
